Do I need an API key?

No. LOCUS uses public geocoding endpoints (including ArcGIS, US Census, Photon, and Nominatim) and MapLibre with OpenFreeMap tiles without requiring you to bring your own API key.

Where are saved locations stored?

Saved locations are stored only in your browser's localStorage and can be viewed on the 3D Globe page. They are not uploaded to a server.
